This is what he thought to himself: “All in vain have I kept my heart clean and washed my hands in innocence.” (Psalm 73 v 13 ESV). But then Asaph realised what would happen if he spoke his thoughts aloud: “If I had said, ‘I will speak thus’, I would have betrayed the generation of your children.” (v 15).
If Asaph had voiced his comparisons and dissatisfaction out loud in the hearing of his family and children, he would have shaken their faith in God. He would have betrayed them by leading them away from God.
We all have doubts and fears occasionally, but let’s stand firm in our faith of the goodness of God and never betray our children by giving them reason to turn away from God.
May God guide our hearts and lips this week.
जब आसाप ने अपने आस-पास के लोगों से अपनी तुलना करना शुरू किया, तो वह बहुत बुरी हालत में पहुँच गया। जब आसाप ईश्वरीय जीवन जीने की पूरी कोशिश कर रहा था, तो उसके आस-पास के लोग परमेश्वर की बिल्कुल भी परवाह किए बिना अपने बुरे काम कर रहे थे।
उसने मन में यह सोचा: “निश्चय, मैं ने अपने हृदय को व्यर्थ शुद्ध किया और अपने हाथों को निर्दोषता में धोया है;” (भजन 73:13)। लेकिन फिर आसाप को एहसास हुआ कि अगर वह अपनी बातें ज़ोर से कहेगा तो क्या होगा: “यदि मैं ने कहा होता कि मैं ऐसा ही कहूंगा, तो देख मैं तेरे लड़कों की सन्तान के साथ क्रूरता का व्यवहार करता” (17: 15)।
यदि आसाप ने अपने परिवार और बच्चों के सामने अपनी ये तुलनाएँ, विचार और असंतोष को ज़ोर से कहा होता, तो ऐसा करके वह परमेश्वर में उनके विश्वास को डगमगा देता। वह उन्हें परमेश्वर से दूर ले जाता और उनके साथ धोखा करता।
हम सभी के अंदर कभी-कभी संदेह और डर होता है।, लेकिन आइए हम परमेश्वर की अच्छाई में अपने विश्वास पर मज़बूत रहें और अपने बच्चों को परमेश्वर से दूर जाने का कारण देकर कभी उनके साथ धोखा न करें।
भगवान इस हफ़्ते हमारे दिलों और होठों को रास्ता दिखाएँ।
